Colorado Vital Records offices are receiving calls from customers who submitted requests for birth and death certificates through third-party vendors. Many of these companies charge high fees to process certificate request forms.
As of June 2026, the only Colorado Vital Records approved third-party company for Pueblo County is VitalChek . Additional fees apply when ordering through VitalChek.
Customers who ordered through a different company and believe they may have been misled or charged excessive fees may file a consumer complaint through the Colorado Attorney General’s Stop Fraud Colorado site or call 1-800-222-4444.
To avoid processing fees entirely, certificates may be ordered directly from the Pueblo County Vital Records Office using the information listed below.
The statewide fee for vital records certificates is $25 for the first copy and $20 for each additional copy of the same record ordered at the same time.
Welcome to the Pueblo Office of Vital Records
NOTE: State of Colorado birth, death, and fetal death certificates are not public records. Therefore, are not subject to the Freedom of Information Act.
Birth and Death certificates of events that occur anywhere in the State of Colorado are available through the Pueblo Vital Records Office. These certificates are certified legal documents and can be used for passports, traveling, school registration, driver’s licenses, and more. The office provides birth, death, fetal death, and ledger records with genealogy information from the year 1897 to present.
Same day service is available until 4:15 pm
(Walk-ins are welcome)
Business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Monday through Friday - except Holidays.
CLOSED from 12:00 to 1:00 pm
